Rare diseases affect nearly 350 million people around the world, and NF, specifically, affects 1 in 3,000 people. Hack for NF 2020 — hosted by the Children’s Tumor Foundation (CTF) and sponsored by numerous organizations and data partners, including Sage Bionetworks and the NF Data Portal — will bring together patients, scientists, researchers, clinicians, startups, developers, data analysts, and other hackathon enthusiasts to analyze datasets and create solutions ranging from new research methods, data visualization, and patient engagement.

We need your help to end NF and other rare diseases. Hacker participants will compete to create a data-driven framework, promote reusable strategies, and incorporate emerging technologies such as AI, ML, or NLP to find new insights, refine algorithms, and identify alternative therapies and research. Three hackathon teams will win a $7,500 prize, as well as the opportunity to win additional grant monies and participate in the NF Virtual Institute and NF Incubator. This year’s hackathon will be virtual, and will run from October 2 – November 13.
