Children’s Tumor Foundation is now accepting Letters of Intent (LOI) for the 2023 Young Investigator Award (YIA) program. The deadline to submit an LOI is January 4, 2023 5:00pm ET.
Children’s Tumor Foundation has also announced that, starting in 2023, all base salaries for a given YIA cycle will be in alignment with the NIH pay scale existing at the time of launch of that YIA cycle (Note: The opening of the Letter of Intent stage marks the launch of a YIA cycle). Salaries are based on awardee’s years of experience at the time the award is issued, typically on June 1st. The total YIA funding amount will include the base salary plus institution-specific fringe benefits up to 20% plus 10% indirect costs.
Also, postdoctoral YIA recipients who were awarded the YIA in 2021 or later may receive an additional year of funding after completing the original two-year award duration.
The YIA is CTF’s longest running award program and provides salary support to early career NF researchers, such as senior doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers, to help them get established as independent NF investigators.
